My friend Ksenia is a musician, songwriter and teacher. She invited me to do a workshop a couple months ago with her students (my first one!) and we all enjoyed it so much, she invited me to do another. The 11th ANNUAL IMA AWARDS named my album”You Go Your Way”:
Winner! Best Folk/Singer Songwriter Album
In addition to the jury selection award, the IMA “Vox Populi” (fan vote!) named the album a winner in two categories:
Winner! Best Folk/Singer Songwriter Album for “You Go Your Way”
Winner! Best Love Song for “Love Changes Everything”
This year’s judging panel included Keith Richards, Tom Waits & Kathleen Brennan, Suzanne Vega, Ozzy Osbourne, Joshua Redman, Anthony DeCurtis (Rolling Stone), Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour), and Bill Bragin (Lincoln Center) among many other artists and music industry professionals.
More than 60,000 music fans from around the world voted online for the “Vox Populi” awards, naming their favorite self-released and independent label artists. For the 11th program, artists and bands represented the 340 nominees in more than 70 Album, Song, Music Video and Design categories.
